MGEN. Romeo Brawner Jr. formally assumed his post on Friday as the 65th commanding general of the Philippine Army in ceremonies at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo in Quezon City.In his speech, Brawner ensured the welfare and safety of each soldier, citing their role as the most important resource of their respective families.He also vowed to protect all personnel and Army units against the threat of the coronavirus disease 2019 .
Brawner promised to provide the needed military resources that will help their commander-in-chief, President Rodrigo Duterte, end the insurgency in the country and modernize the Philippine Army into a unit of world class soldiers by 2028.He vowed to help the Commission on Elections pursue credible, orderly and peaceful elections in May 2022.Brawner was congratulated by AFP chief, Lt. Gen. Andres Centino, and Defense Secretary Deflin Lorenzana.
