Big businesses donating 1.5 million COVID-19 vaccine doses: presidential adviser

5 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine by the second quarter of 2021 to help the government’s immunization drive, a presidential adviser said on Tuesday.

Concepcion however said that he would ask that half of the 1.5 million doses, or 750 thousand, be channeled back to the donor companies, to be directed to their frontliners and poorest colleagues. Concepcion meanwhile said the private sector hopes that besides ending the outbreak, mass vaccination will also help solve the economic problems created by COVID-19. Three large pharmaceutical companies have now reported significant progress in their COVID-19 vaccine production, Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca.
