In a report to Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente, BI Intelligence Chief Fortunato Manahan, Jr., identified the duo as Kim Jeongseong, 28, and Lee Seohyeon, 24, who arrived last Sunday aboard an Aseana Airlines flight from Incheon, South Korea.
“They both presented bogus tourist visas and marriage certificates purportedly showing that they are married to Filipino citizens,” Manahan said. The two passengers were immediately excluded and booked on the first available flight back to their port of origin. The incident prompted Morente to warn other foreigners from using fake documents to circumvent travel restrictions imposed due to corona virus pandemic.
“These acts of misrepresentation will not succeed because our officers in the airports are experts in detecting spurious travel papers,” the BI chief added.
