The seeming one-upsmanship between local government units in the country has done wonders to the government’s vaccination program against the coronavirus disease .

Only through vaccination will we reach that certain level of population protection that will allow us to transition into the new normal and completely recover from the pandemic,” he added.
The DILG chief cited the raffle scheme of Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar where vaccinated persons are given a chance to win motorcycles and a brand new house and lot. Down south, malls were tapped as vaccination sites in the cities of Davao and Tagum. Free transportation was provided. Año also cited the Quezon City government for its evening vaccinations that were designed to cater to workers who cannot afford to miss work in the morning, particularly the “no work-no-pay” personnel.
