Senator Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara has filed Senate resolution Nos. 176 and 177 which seeks to commend and congratulate Yulo for clinching the first gold medal at the 49th FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championship in Germany, and Petecio for winning the gold medal at the 2019 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships held in Russia.
Yulo, he said, also successfully qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics that would be held in Tokyo, Japan. “Her success is not just another proof that Filipino athletes can compete and dominate in the world stage, it is also a strong message to aspiring Filipina athletes that grit, determination, and hardwork are the perfect ingredients for success,” said Angara.
