‘Amihan’ affects Luzon, Visayas; shear line to bring isolated rains in E. Mindanao READ:

Two weather systems namely northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan”, and shear line, also called the tail-end of frontal system, are expected to affect the country in the next 24 hours, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration on Thursday, Jan. 13.“Amihan po ang nakakaapekto dito po sa may Luzon at Visayas.

Duran likewise warned the residents of Caraga, northern Mindanao, and Davao region against possible flashfloods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains that the shear line may bring. Meanwhile, Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and the Visayas may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

In the next 24 hours, no weather disturbance is expected to develop and affect the country, the State weather bureau said.
