Presidential spokesman Harry Roque maintained that all Cabinet members, including Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, serve at the pleasure of the President. Roque made the remarks following reports the President is supposedly looking for a replacement of the health secretary amid alleged mishandling of the coronavirus crisis.
Asked if the President still trusts Duque, Roque said: “Habang hindi pa po natatanggal, mayroon pa pong trust and confidence .” “Secretary Duque will answer allegations in the proper forum but for now let us allow him to do his job during this global health emergency,” Roque said last week.
