More than 25,000 farmers and fisherfolk are affected. QuintaPH

Typhoon Quinta left at least P705.87 million worth of damage to agriculture and fisheries in the Philippines.

The Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Operations Center of the Department of Agriculture said in a bulletin on Wednesday, October 28, that 25,483 farmers and fisherfolk were affected. The damaged agricultural areas totaled 19,971 hectares in the Ilocos Region, Calabarzon, Bicol, Western Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula.

Rice, corn, high-value crops, fisheries, livestock, and irrigation and agri-facilities were affected, resulting in 33,545 metric tons of volume loss."The increase in values is attributed to the updated reports in rice and corn from the provinces of Batangas, Laguna, Rizal, Quezon, Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Masbate, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo, and Zamboanga City," the agriculture department said.
