Military officials and personnel were reminded by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) leadership on Friday to refrain from accessing lanes in EDSA that are dedicated for public utility buses.

This was contained in a directive dated July 2 and issued by General Felimon Santos Jr., AFP Chief of Staff, to all military commanders and chiefs of offices.

He added that soldiers must “treasure the trust of Filipinos” by following even the simplest of traffic rules and regulations as he emphasized the importance of discipline in the military profession. The AFP Chief noted that the directive also aims to assist government authorities in speeding up travel time and appropriately manage vehicle traffic in EDSA, which provides access to six cities in the Metro Manila.
