Police and military forces have committed to deploy their medical staff to help in the fight against COVID-19 following President Rodrigo Duterte's order.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police have committed to deploy their medical staff to augment manpower and help in the government's COVID-19 response.medical corps of the military and police to be"on deck"

as hospitals reach full capacity amid rising COVID-19 cases, and infections among healthcare workers. The AFP said five medical teams will be deployed to the National Capital Region. Two are from the Philippine Army and one each from the AFP Health Services Command, Philippine Navy, and Philippine Air Force.The government's pandemic task force will determine in what facilities the teams will be stationed, the AFP said.

Meanwhile, PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said the police's medical reserve force will augment healthcare personnel in both public and private facilities. Currently, the PNP Medical Reserve Force has around 150 members. Eleazar said they will conduct accounting of PNP personnel with medical background to augment the unit.
