Automobile Association Philippines President Augustus “Joe” V. Ferreria, was elected to the FIA Senate during the meeting of the World Council for Automobile Mobility and Tourism held last June 21 at the FIA headquarters in Paris, France.
The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile is the governing body that oversees four-wheel motorsport competitions worldwide, including Formula One, the World Rally Championship, Formula E, and various other forms of car racing. It has 244 motoring and motor sport club members in 146 countries. Focusing on three interlinked areas namely sport, campaigns and mobility, the FIA promotes safe, sustainable and accessible mobility for all road users across the world.
Joe Ferreria, as he is known to many, served as AAP’s treasurer when he joined AAP’s board in 2009. During the AAP General Membership Meeting held online on July 29, 2021, Ferreria was elected AAP President.
