Eight commuters were injured following a traffic accident in Afghanistan’s northern province of Baghlan, a local source confirmed on Sunday.

PUL-E-KHUMRI, Afghanistan —

“The incident occurred when two sedans collided head-on along a highway in Dushi district late on Saturday. The affected people were transported to a provincial hospital where two injured remained in critical condition,” Nazir Abedi, head of provincial traffic police directorate, told Xinhua. The highway in the snow-hit mountainous region connects Afghanistan’s capital of Kabul to nine northern provinces.Road mishaps are frequent in the Asian country and occur mostly due to poor driving or badly maintained roads or vehicles.
