Chinese New Year is upon us and what better way to celebrate than with food?

The Year of the Water Rabbit arrives on Jan. 22, Sunday, which means loads of special set menus and promos from some of Metro Manila's greatest Chinese haunts. New World Makati's popular authentic Chinese restaurant, Jasmine, rings in the Chinese New Year with two set menus that signify prosperity, longevity and happiness.

This set also has two desserts: the double-boiled white fungus with lotus seeds and steamed piggy buns with milky egg cream and will also include one box of nian gao .Just craving for some dimsum? You're in luck! Jasmine has on offer all-you-can-eat dimsum from xiao long bao and barbecued pork pastry puff to seafood taro puff and shrimp with bamboo shoot dumpling.

Set B serves up a steamed money bag with spring rolls for an appetizer, Chinese-style coconut chicken soup, radish with scallops and French beans on XO sauce, braised fish maw with sea moss and meatballs, steamed lapu-lapu with taoso, fried pigeon, steamed crab with garlic, and efu noodles with seafood in abalone sauce, and hot taro soup with sweet glutinous rice balls.

Crystal Dragon is also offering more dishes like the steamed duo flavor live grouper with signature tofu, roasted crispy spring chicken with supreme soy sauce, Buddha jumps over the wall , braised sea cucumber and pork trotter with black moss and brown sauce, wok-tossed creamy prawns with fragrant shredded coconut, and wok-fried Fragrant Glutinous Rice with Guangdong cured pork, and the crispy Taro and New Year cake pillow.

If they order Set B , they can satisfy their appetite with salted egg chicken, salt and pepper liempo, seafood green soup , french beans stir fry, and yang chow rice. While you're there, be sure to try their kung pao tofu and chicken topped with scallion and ginger oil, which are light yet filling and appetizing a la carte dishes.
