PRC started its Carbon Neutral Program initiatives in 2019. Of its initiatives, the declaration of June 25 of every year as PRC Nationwide Tree Planting Day was among the notable ones. This declaration gave way for its tree planting activities held annually during PRC Week Celebration.

Citing the rapid acceleration and worsening climate crisis, PRC, together with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Society of Filipino Foresters, Inc. (SFFI), and the Climate Change Commission, inked an agreement to push for the Carbon Neutral Program Convergence.

This is also known as the process of balancing carbon dioxide emissions with carbon offsets.

“The Carbon Neutral Program shall be a continuing program for Filipino professionals around the country to achieve carbon neutrality by way of reforestation initiatives,” said PRC.

PRC inked the MOA on June 13, 2022 in Quezon City.
