Carla Gaudan, Alyanna Nicole Ong and Therese Manalo delivered the crucial hits for the Lady Cardinals as they clinched their third win in four outings.

The win tied them with the San Sebastian Lady Stags and the Arellano Lady Chiefs at second.

Leading 10-6 in the fifth set, Mapua saw Perpetual launching an assault anchored on Hannah Suico to close the gap at 10-all.

But the trio of Gaudan, Ong and Manalo retaliated with their own attacks for the Lady Cardinals to seal the game in their favor.

Ong pumped in 21 points for Mapua along with Jonina Fernandez, who chipped in 12 points. Gaudan and Manalo contributed seven and five points, respectively.

Ong also spearheaded the Lady Cardinals’ defense by posting eight of the team’s 11 blocks.

Four players scored in double figures of Perpetual but their efforts went futile.

Mary Rhose Dapol led with 13 points, Suico and Razel Aldea added 12 points and Jenny Gaviola finished with 10 points.
