THE Department of Health -Central Visayas confirmed Tuesday, January 18, 2022, that there are 22 cases of Omicron variant of Sars-CoV-2, which causes the coronavirus disease , in Central Visayas.
DOH-Central Visayas Chief Pathologist Dr. Mary Jean Loreche said that 16 of the cases are overseas Filipino workers, one is a returning overseas Filipino, and five samples were sourced from the local community. Loreche said they received the result from the Philippine Genome Center last Monday, January 17, 2022.
