TWO of the three persons deprived of liberty who bolted the maximum security compound of the National Bilibid Prison were killed during a manhunt operation Monday, January 17, 2022.
Bureau of Corrections spokesperson Gabriel Chaclag identified the fatalities as Pacifico Villaruz Adlawan and Arwin Villeza Bio.They allegedly fought it out with the police, prompting the authorities to retaliate, resulting in the PDLs' death.Chaclag said several police operatives were wounded in the encounter.The three PDLs escaped the detention facility around 1 a.m. of January 17.
