According to the report, over 100 boxes of fake paracetamol and other medicines for fever, cough, cold, headache of famous brands worth P109,000 were confiscated from the suspects.

Two persons selling fake medicines were arrested in an entrapment operation conducted by members of the Northern Police District- District Special Operations Unit and the Quezon City Police District on BF Road in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City on Monday night, Jan. 17.

Police said the suspects identified as Jessieco Ibarola, 47, and Fransisco Ramal, 45, were caught selling fake medicines around 9 p.m. Ibarola and Ramal are now under the custody of the police and will be charged with violation of Republic Act No. 8203 or An Act Prohibiting Counterfeit Drugs Providing Penalties for Violations and Appropriating Funds.

Meanwhile, National Capital Region Police Office chief Vicente Danao Jr. urged the public to buy medicine at legitimate pharmacies and drug stores.
