BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya: Two groups of the Bugkalot tribe are vying to be recognized as the overall representative of the Indigenous People’s Organization with the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples .

Each of the two groups has its own chief: Rosario Camma, who has been leading the BC for many years, was elected anew as overall chieftain, and Bishop John Caanawan, who was appointed by members of the Bugkalot tribe beganget through the long-established practice of pogong .
