Bren Esports did that exactly after ruling the Mobile Legends M2 World Championships in Singapore, staving off elimination in countless occasions and pulling through in winning time.

Capping off its exceptional tournament run with a come-from-behind win over the Burmese Ghouls of Myanmar in the grand finals, Bren Esports put itself atop the Mobile Legends echelon.

The Filipinos, though, had to go through the eye of the needle first before claiming the title and the top prize of $140,000 (around P6.7 million).

After finishing the group stage unbeaten, Bren Esports found itself dropped to the lower bracket following a stunning sweep against the Burmese Ghouls in the first round of the playoffs.

But it was in the lower bracket where Bren Esports proved its mettle, taking down Malaysia/Singapore league champion Todak, MPL Invitational winner Alter Ego, and Indonesia league titleholder RRQ Hoshi.

Against all 3 powerhouse teams, Bren Esports lost the series opener before it came back to win.

Bren Esports shone particularly against Alter Ego in the lower bracket semifinals, where Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno delivered a performance to remember against the team that many predicted to win it all.

With Bren Esports on the verge of elimination after losing Game 1, KarlTzy posted a flawless line of 5 kills and 9 assists against 0 deaths with Lancelot to help drag Alter Ego to a rubber match.

KarlTzy had another perfect game of 16 kills and 6 assists against 0 deaths with Lancelot in the knockout Game 3 to propel Bren Esports to the lower bracket finals, where it beat RRQ Hoshi, 3-1, in a best-of-five duel.

Forged by its experiences in the lower bracket, Bren Esports clinched the first two games of the grand finals against the Burmese Ghouls, a sweep seeming imminent.

The Burmese Ghouls, however, nailed the next 3 games to move on the cusp of the title and push Bren Esports to the ropes.

Having its back against the wall one more time, Bren Esports took a major gamble and shuffled its draft, with KarlTzy bringing out Brody for the first time in the best-of-seven series.

That paid dividends as Bren Esports dominated Game 6 to force a winner-take-all match, which it ultimately won in just 14 minutes as the Burmese Ghouls crumbled under pressure.

By the end of the tournament, Bren Esports toppled champion teams from 3 different local leagues, now worthy of calling itself not just the best Mobile Legends team in the region but in the world.
