Fifteen persons deprived of liberty who have served their jail terms were released from the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City last Jan. 19.

In a statement issued today, Jan. 27, the Bureau of Corrections said it has been expediting the release of qualified PDLs to decongest jails not only in NBP but also in all its six other prison facilities nationwide. BuCor Director General Gerald Q. Bantag and Acting NBP Superintendent CCInsp. Reynaldo T. Pablo Jr. said the released PDLs were fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

“Moreover, they underwent COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test” and “were given transportation allowance for their travel expenses,” they said.
