Stars bare their postlockdown plans

/ 12:50 AM April 07, 2020

As Easter beckons, we all wish that the world would live up to its meaning by having a fresh start and a new beginning. But that can only happen if the pandemic will be over. Just like an Easter egg hunt, let’s hope medical experts finally find the cure for COVID-19.

Just to keep our spirits up during the lockdown, let’s think of the first thing we would do when this nightmare ends (aside from hearing Mass and reuniting with our loved ones). I asked some celebs to share their thoughts about it.

May the promise of Easter remind us that a brighter tomorrow isn’t too far away. Perhaps the anguish brought about by the pandemic is just carving our hearts deeper so that it may contain more joy someday soon.

JIM PAREDES: By that time, I would already be so physically fit since I exercise almost daily these days. I will go on trips to beaches, mountains, waterfalls and be outdoors as much as possible. And maybe go abroad. I would like to make a conscious effort to live a simpler, less materialistic life with less time spent on social media.

FEATURED STORIES

JASMINE CURTIS-SMITH: The first thing I’ll do is probably head back to work! Our show is still on hold on its fifth week, and we have a lot more to go for airing. Plus, if I get back to work sooner, I also get to help and give back sooner.

CHRISTINE BABAO: I’ll have long, slow, uninterrupted dinners with close friends, where we can just talk about our experiences during the COVID-19 situation. With my business partners, I’ll go back and check on my Styled Pop Up store at Shangri-La Mall. I’ll go to a salon to have a mani-pedi.

SUZI ABRERA: When the pandemic is over, and after seeing my relatives and friends, I’m planning a beach trip with my family. There, we can commune with nature, breathe it all in, and maybe invite the rest of our families and friends over and just be grateful to be together again.

We’ll be sharing the same space under the glorious sky. We’ll say a prayer of deep thanks together with our hands held together, without fear or anxiety. Beach would be the first order of business.

CHRISTIAN BABLES: The first thing I’ll do is to go to work and to eat Jolly Hotdog (laughs)! How I miss acting and eating that fave food of mine.

DINGDONG AVANZADO: When the lockdown is lifted and we’re slowly allowed to leave our houses, the first thing I would probably do is get a haircut, that is if the salon is open. Also, have a get-together with my family and friends while still practicing social distancing.

I think it will be like this for a while until a vaccine is created, which is probably a year away from now. This pandemic will really change the way we live our lives from now on.
