None of the 1,698 Supreme Court (SC) personnel – five of them justices – tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Spokesman Brian Keith F. Hosaka said on May 31.

Hosaka said the rapid tests that started last May 26 will continue until all of the 2,700 officials and employees have been tested as part of the SC’s complementary efforts to the government’s drive against COVID-19.

Hosaka said that “prior to the lockdown early on in March, the SC has distributed face masks to its employees and gave every office with ample supply of 70 percent solution rubbing alcohol for use of the employees and visitor to disinfect their hands.” Earlier, Chief Justice Peralta had announced that starting on Monday all courts nationwide are fully operational.
