A 34-year-old woman, Onyekachi Gbara, has lamented the alleged disappearance of her husband, Tambari, after he participated in a protest by workers of the Julius Berger company in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

She said her husband, a marine engineer, had not been reachable on his telephone line, alleging that the state government and the construction firm might have a hand in his disappearance. The President, Rivers State Ethnic Youth Leaders Coalition, Legborsi Yamaabana, said it was wrong for the state government to declare Tambari and his counterparts, Gift Elenwo and Chiboso Ejeku, wanted for protesting against underpayment and obnoxious policies of the company against them.

“We also call the Rivers State Government to lift the declaration on them to enable them to reunite with their families,” he added. He said, “I know that they were declared wanted by the state government. But as to the claim that the man is missing, I don’t know anything about that.”
