From Sunday, September 19 to 24, 2021 NK Art Showroom, in partnership with Nike Art Gallery , will thrill Lagosians to the best of visual arts, as its maiden show, titled, The Discovery, is unveiled in Lagos.

In a chat with journalists recently, Head, NK Art Showroom, Tobi Nancy Keshinro, said COVID-19 lockdown brought out the best in her.xAccording to her, “During that period, people were indoors, and since I like arts, I decided to go into visual expression of my art.”

She added that the group show is not a one-off event, but continuous, stressing that each exhibition will be better than the previous one.While noting that the show is the first she is organising, Keshinro stressed that the theme came as a result of her passion for what she has discovered in the art sector.

According to her, “Art is communication at a very emotional and elemental level. It means everything to an artist, and therefore, my dream is to promote arts. That is why I decided to start NK Art showroom whose mission is to promote and sell art, establish vibrant links with the citizens to make people aware of their national and universal cultural heritage and the necessity of the arts as an important element for economic and intellectual development of both the individual and society.” headtopics.com

xDescribing Albert Ohams, one of the exhibiting artists, as her role model, she said, “I am grateful to the exposure that he has given me.”She also full of praises for the master printmaker, painter and sculptor, Bruce Onabrakpeya. “He is a legend, who has impacted greatly on me and the society.”

On her expectation from the show, Keshinro said she would like artists to see her organisation as one that helps artists to sell their work and promote them globally.Born August 3, 1999 in Lagos, Keshinro studied economics in the university. A few years later, she discovered her talent as an artist, therefore, went for training at a professional art studio and following the advice of her tutor, she decided to make art a profession. Keshinro is a member of the Society of Nigerian Artists (SNA) and Female Artists Association of Nigeria (FEAAN), Lagos.
