Minister of Power, Sale Mamman, has said that the Nigerian Government had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Siemens, a giant electrification company based in Germany.
“One of the things I will tell you is that the government has signed a memorandum of understanding with the German Government, Siemen. He also advised electricity distribution companies to allow other investors if they cannot perform their responsibilities, saying the current subsidy regime was not sustainable.
“So, we cannot continue like that. So, if they are ready to continue, fine, but if they are not ready to continue, maybe, they should give way to whoever that is ready to come and invest. So, we are asking government to review and see if they are capable, fine. But if they are not capable, they should give way.”
Since when did Agreements make our life better.
Please extend to power transmission and distribution. I don't understand why we want to invest in generation when we can't distribute 3000MW of the 13000MW we are already generating
Is power generation our problem? Or distribution
I read online news this morning that Power Minister claimed we are generating 13k Mega watts but can only transmit 7k watts while DISCO can only distribute 3k. Is it not better to tackles the transmission and distribution issues first? Let them think about this.
Hmmm
They have signed countless agreements and we are worse off. The people benefitting from the darkness we enjoy in this country are placed highly in the government
