ion, the NIMC has said.
This came as workers of the commission told our correspondent on Tuesday that the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, had constituted a committee to address the demands of NIMC employees.NIMC workers had downed tools on January 7, 2021 in protest against the poor welfare issues at the commission, but their strike was suspended after the intervention of the minister.
“We have licensed private and public sector organisations including telcos so as to create more centres,” he stated in a WhatsApp message to our correspondent. It later extended the December 30, 2020 deadline following widespread opposition against the earlier announcement and gave three weeks’ extension for subscribers with NIN from December 30, 2020 to January 19, 2021.It also gave six weeks’ extension for subscribers without NIN from December 30, 2020 to February 9, 2021, but many organisations had called for further deadline extension or outright suspension of the NIN registration process due to the large crowds who had yet to have their NINs.
Hope the enrollment is free ooo Cos I don't have this 5k I'm hearing...
Finally, they decided to use their brains for once!...🙄

Thinking out of the box
IFB instanta
Nice one!
So I can walk into any of the Airtel office and get my NIN done?
Better
Therefore, those with BVN generated NIN do not need to visit any NIMC centers as the Telcos can validate the NIN upon receipt and link to mobile numbers. Don't give people unnecessary work.
Ifb Instantly 🤝🥂
This Government no well at all!
Na una go tire, Nigerians don't have una time about this NIN things .
This is totally bad, how can we entrust our Identity Management in hand of foreigners Airtel- India, MTN -South Africa, 9 mobile - Arabs 😊 and Glo -God Know who.
But abeg wetin we just do them for this country? Na our fault say them born us for here? Why our govt no just the reason thiscountryisajoke.
What were they thinking before?
Anywhere they approve This criminals among them we still make some citizens to pay
MizCazorla1 Sick people
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Give _softwork the license and we will register 500 persons per day.
The implications is that the mobile phone operators can automatically use a subscriber's information to generate a NIN then?
Also, when the issue of removing all unregistered SIM cards from their networks, why did MTN preferred to pay a whooping 330B, than complying? & the 2.2million Unregistered SIM cards that was said to be deactivated in 2019, were they all belonging to MTN alone?
MTN were after me for sometime to come & update my SIM registration. When I told them I don't have time to waste in their office again, that they should go ahead & block me. The next day, MTN sent me free 400 airtime, & congratulated me for the update, when I didn't do anything.
Telcos that are more interested in making money, than the national security this NIN-SIM linkage seeks to address? If there are bulk of SIM cards that the owners fail to turn up for NIN linkage, what measures has NIMC put in place, ensure Telcos don't don't generate fake NIN?
Better
Don't you think non Nigerians will have a field day registering as Nigerians?
If NIMC no drag me like this to their office for the NIN registration I no do
After stating for so long without bothering yourself and they later easy the stress for you

Less stress
Does this means telecoms can now register their customers
We have been saying this for long, they will get sense by force...
Hmmm, 'We have licensed private and public sector organisations including telcos (companies)' Who are these private, public sectors? What is the transparency in giving out NIN, now? Just extend the date, do the job urself . NIN is a national identity number. Our identity!
Berra
Can NIMC entend the deadline to June 30th due to the second wave of covid-19.
Thank God I didnt took them serious from the onset. I knew all along that they don't have the capacity to attend to the multitude of people so I never bother myself. Now I can get it done. 'Set of poor thinkers'
So many non-Nigerians from across the border about to become citizens.
Nigerian government and their policy somersaulting.
