The Vehicle Inspection Service in Lagos State says its officers are back on Lagos roads to carry out its statutory life-saving mandate through enforcement of motor vehicles’ road worthiness.

in Lagos on Thursday.

Former Lagos Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, had banned the VIOs from operating on the roads over reported excesses. “As a matter of fact, we are back on the roads to do the needful. We have embraced a lot of new practices and procedures. We have embraced technology and that still needs the presence of VIOs on our roads in Lagos where technology is limited.

According to him, the period of the ban was for the vehicle inspectors to strategise and return with fresh ideas and ways of performing their duties.

Oppression continues femigbaja tundefashola

Sanwolu dey determined to show us pepper

What do you want from us

shoke_fierce God is with us🤣

Help control the heavy traffic and don't add to it.

Road wey no worthy of even trekking

Why are we paying for road worthyness when the road is the one spoiling our cars.

Stupid sect of people Always bent on causing nuisance

U are welcome back yeye ppl

dide_oluwa It's so bad I would rather take bus than to drive. VIO is the short form for violence, wicked set of ppl.

As per Christmas hustle naa

To do what? Extort?

Absolutely no shame!

I'm iiki

Welcome back

No we don't want you. The traffic logjam currently in Lagos is terrible already. VIS presence will compound it further. Most times your officers operation hinder traffic because of desperation to catch an offender your men stay at bus stops causing discomfort to many

Here we go again

Its festive season, VIO members need to hustle too as to meet up the year too. Cos I don't see your work when look over all the buses and trucks rather waiting for private cars to extor money. Nigeria !!! All na hustlers .

To do what, pls let the roads be fixed first

One bastard among them charged my private car with kabu kabu permit just because they checked everything and was intact and I didn't do what they expected by tipping them in 2014.. I spent not less than 40k unjustly.... That person among u will never know Peace till he die

Since AkinwunmiAmbode didn't get re-election due to part of your underground work we knew we have lost a rare gem who is bothered about the pain of the masses on the road.... The God that is paying evil men in their coin will do same for bad ones among u...

The God of that silenced u from extorting us during AkinwunmiAmbode will cause u to make the mistake that will cause VIS to become one time agency in Lagos State because u are on d roads for ur pocket and daily contribution not 4 government. One for government 10 for your pocket

The God that silenced u from extorting us during AkinwunmiAmbode will cause u to make the mistake that will cause VIS to become one time agency in Lagos State because u are on d roads for ur pocket and daily contribution not 4 government. One for government 10 for your pocket

Okay why do things happen in reverse in Nigeria, the question is, is the road vehicle worthy first before bringing back these dudes? I don’t understand why we don’t have our priorities well aligned

On the contrary, the roads are not worthy of our cars

VIS I say it too you people the 5k you extorted me at Ajah will keep you off the road for a long time bastards you’ll still misbehave and your criminal agency will be scrapped forever why are those rickety buses still moving around you’ll see private cars and impound idiots

Do the Lagos roads meet VIS standards? In civilised countries, road regulations are made to ensure that funds are provided to maintain the highways in good working order. Here in Nigeria, the clueless officials just copy without understanding. Fix the roads first, then regulate!

Face the public transport vehicles, they are the worst set of vehicles to be on the road especially the danfo buses

Wait...I thought they had deployed CCTV image capture to detect vehicles with expired papers as seen on the news? So why is VIS back on the bad roads of Lagos? Local man is confused 😐

So many governments executive officers so many crime still . Gbogbo yin ta ya weyrey

More commotion on our roads, more traffic, and since the average VIS staff is an extortionist, higher fares, and fewer busses on the road. More suffering for the masses. VIS back? Bad idea.

Nigerians are the biggest coward in the history of mankind. People wey una go beat. Make dem no stop me Sha cos as the country be I ready go jail. Atleast security dey there.

We go beat una die.

Stupid individuals... is the road worthy of our cars. The commercial buses and those long disgusting buses ,you will not stop them rather its people with complete papers you will be stopping.. animals 🙄🙄🙄🙄

Demonic and satanic agents are back, awon werey

You people came early for Christmas money

Not just coming back on Lagos roads, what are you back to do? And how will your efforts add up to fixing the roads?

So how much is Sanwo-olu's cut ?

Bastards.

In the time past, VIO comes out once or twice in a year after announcements, but Fashola started the extortion before Ambode cancelled the egunje. Now back by Sanwoolu. Of what importance are them if not to extort?

Ogun kee u , tyrants , thieves , fun killers .. I had an encounter wit dem on Lagos Abeokuta express road (precisely kola bus stop by Access bank) and one of them said if we stop u and u insult us ' he will beat me up wit charmed ring ' oruka ' ..who does dat in a sane society

As their asiwaju said: party baba was hungry during Ambode, now they must chop.

Don't compound the already bad traffic situation please.

All the rubbish that has gone away with past govt is now coming back in jidesanwoolu govt!! O ga ooooo!!

Borderline insanity!!

To come and clean roads

...to fix the roads?.. Pls confirm.

Na threat or what?

Back to extort motorists ?

Christmas is coming 😄

We are in this together,Ambode nor good, now shanwo olu don come. To play to the galery of his ogas. The remittance erra is back..

With VIO return on Lagos roads, there will be more extortion, more harassment, more assault of the ordinary people. However there will be much more money in the pockets of the VIO. No improvement on driving, and vehicle particulars which is what their duty is about.

Hope educated once this time and don’t Cause more traffic Cos of your iberibrism checking..

Why must you people stamped us, with the bad roads, heavy traffic, police officers, LASTMA amongst traffic agents and erring danfos you people still want to punish us furthermore.

Haq haq haq

Causing nuisance

U don broke be dt

Its so ironic that our public servants hold us hostage in a democracy.. Y'all should sit in your office and ensure no car gets registered/renewed without passing due diligence test and leave relevant agencies to catch offenders.

To cause more gridlocks. U will be back in your offices in a short time. We will stiffle u with social media and the governor will point your office to u

The very first VIO officer that is not black. Nice one.

Which one be VIS again, I thought na VIO we have?

What have you come to collect, i feel the governor should not add salt to injury o. People dey vex

Welcome

How many commercial buses do they arrest. Because we know that most of them don't have particulars. Sanwo Olu is trying to make more money for Tinubu. Part of the reason why they denied Ambode 2nd term.

We do not need any VIS until all the bad roads are fixed and motorable...

You are not welcome sir.

To repair?

You are going back to where you are coming from no doubt

Na wa o ,to do what? SARS ,police ,armed robbers now una too

Awon eleribu!

Back for egunje.

This sounds like a threat to me but I hope your return witch-hunt on private motorist cos if there is still one rickety vanagon/commercial bus having no worries about you guys then leave we private motorist alone o..cos it’s a major issue!

jimidisu my dear uncle, e gba wa ooo.. The traffic their road check will cause will add to the already heavy ones we bear everyday.

Back to add to the ongoing terrible traffic in Lagos
