It was learnt that Ebite Wisdom was allegedly attacked, macheted and injured by the Vigilante group on Sunday night of August 22 when he was returning home.The victim was said to have had an argument with the Vigilante group and in the ensuing encounter, one of his hands was almost chopped off but he managed to escape from the scene until he was able to reach out to his kinsmen who rushed him to the hospital.
However, the Ijaw youths who had earlier vowed to avenge the attacks on their kinsman clashed with the Vigilante group at Peabody hotel in Ovwian Community.The Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe is yet to pick his phone calls or respond to text messages sent to his mobile phone at the time of this report.
