Some trigger-happy personnel of the Nigeria Police Force in Lagos State are notorious for ending the lives of people abruptly through the accidental discharge of bullets especially in Lagos State.On September 12, 2021, Monsurat Ojuade, an admission seeker, was killed by a trigger-happy police officer, in Lagos State.

The police officer was said to have followed them and while trying to get into the compound forcefully shot at the victim. The victim took the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and was awaiting admission into the University before the unfortunate incident.In November 2018, Adeyemo Rotimi Oke, a traffic officer with the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority was at his duty post controlling traffic in Iyana-Ipaja area of Lagos when he was shot dead by a SARS officer, Inspector Olukunle Olonade.

However, the Lagos State Police Command, through the Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, said a team of policemen exchanged gunfire with suspected cultists while on surveillance duty around Adamo, adding that in the process, Hadijat was hit by a stray bullet while two police personnel sustained injuries.A young man, Kolade Johnson was shot by officers attached to the Special Anti-Cultism Squad during a raid of a football viewing centre in Lagos on Sunday, March 31, 2019.
