The Guardian yesterday won three main awards in this year’s edition of the Nigeria Media Merit Award . Former Editor, Abraham Ogbodo, Bertram Nwannekama and Gbenga Akinfenwa emerged Editor of the Year, Features Writer of the Year and Investigative Reporter of the Year respectively.

The Guardian was also nominated in the categories of the Environment Reporter, Print Journalist of the Year, Female Reporter of the Year and Banking and Finance Reporter of the Year, among others. General Danjuma, said as part of the efforts to promote maternal health in Nigeria, The T.Y. Danjuma Foundation would sponsor the Health Reporter of the Year from next year.

The event, held at Muson Centre, Lagos, was witnessed by top media practitioners and other dignitaries.
