The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has elected to build a laboratory complex in Calabar, Cross River State.

Speaking during an inspection tour of the Ayade Industrial Park, yesterday, Director General of SON, Farouk Salim, said the laboratory would be sited at the Park, which houses a cluster of industries built by Governor Ben Ayade.

Commending Ayade, the SON DG said: “The governor is a man of foresight, as a professor with great ideas, it looks like there is more harmony between Cross River State and the Federal Government, which is the most important thing, because if there is harmony, there will be progress. On his part, Ayade thanked SON for its decision to site its laboratory complex in Calabar, describing the move as a validation of his industrialisation policy and dividend of his alignment with the central government.
