Solid minerals areas development bill scales second reading in Senate

The bill is seeking to address environmental devastation occasioned by minerals exploitation through a commission

The lawmaker, while imploring his colleagues to give maximum support to the bill, added that the country is richly endowed with a variety of solid minerals of various categories ranging from precious metals to various precious stones and industrial minerals. “The commercial value of Nigeria’s solid minerals has been estimated to run into hundreds of billions of dollars”.
