Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, says that the purpose of leadership is to do the will of God by meeting public expectations, noting that Nigeria needs a new direction to thrive.

Speaking at the Catholic Politicians and Captains of Industry Forum on Friday at the St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Benin Shaibu expressed the need for Catholics all over the World to allow their faith to guide their actions. Shaibu, who is the Vice Chairman of the forum, said: “This forum is a wake up call in redefining the essence of leadership. The purpose of leadership is to do the will of God and the only way to do the will of God is by doing the will of the people as well as meeting public expectations at whatever capacity of leadership we find ourselves.

“Politicians and captains of industry of the Catholic faith have come together to advocate a new direction for Nigeria in the efforts to combact the numerous social economic challenges facing the nation. “As a Christian we must strive on a daily basis try to make a difference in whatever task given to us to do. We must learn to allow our faith to guide our actions. when faith drives what we do, we can’t make a mistake,” he added.
