Former President of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Assembly to revisit the sexual harassment bill passed by the eighth Senate.
Saraki made the call in reaction to a documentary by the BBC exposing sexual harassment of female students by male lecturers in many West African universities. According to him, the Senate under his watch passed the ‘Sexual Harassment in Tertiary Education Institution Prohibition Bill’ – a law which prescribes a five-year jail term for any lecturer, educationist or person in a position of authority in any tertiary institution in Nigeria found guilty of sexual misconduct.
“I appeal to the ninth Senate and President Muhammadu Buhari to revisit this bill so that we can implement the institutional reforms necessary to safeguard our children in educational institutions in the country. “I also urge the institutions to conduct robust investigations, not only on the accused but also for all other reports and complaints that come in.
bukolasaraki MBuhari So such bill exists and not been passed? What's our senators' work sef, including you former ones too
bukolasaraki MBuhari Revisiting the Bill is no doubt putting a round peg in a round hole,I wouldnt have been hyperbolic if I say almost every Nigeria female student have one or two story to share about either their personal or friend's experience about sexual harassment from SexForGrades lecturers
bukolasaraki MBuhari when you were in power during your reign at different positions, what'd you do about it, democracy in Nigeria is a scam
bukolasaraki MBuhari How can I send a message without broadcasting my Identity

Buhari is a simple man who has found himself in a complex place again, known as power. Is Buhari a president to meet? He doesn't even know what happens in his environ. It was easy to meet Jubril : Ramaphosa. I will blame you rather i blame Nigerians that accepted an impostor (Aminu Jubril El Sudani) as their president, to him lives of Nigerians killed in south Africa xenophobic attacks don't matter.
