THE House of Representatives has called for the identification and release of Nigerians imprisoned in other countries across the world.
At the plenary on Thursday, the House unanimously adopted a motion moved by Dennis Idahosa, which was titled, ‘Need to ascertain the number of Nigerian citizens being detained in foreign prisons.’ Idahosa stressed that the World Bank estimated remittances of around N24.3bn per year and six per cent of the country’s GDP, thereby making Nigeria one of the highest-ranking countries of the world in remittances inflow.
