Muhammad at the Gombe State commission of inquiry on human rights violations by the SARS and other agencies on Tuesday said he paid N20,000 out of the N25,000 bail demanded by the police, yet his brother was not released.
He said, “I was charged N25,000 for bail, but I made a deposit of N20,000 and I promised to complete the money the following day. Muhammad’s friend, Adamu Bello, in his testimony at the panel of inquiry sitting, said he witnessed Usman being maltreated when he accompanied Muhammad to see his bother when he was in detention.
