A former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido, has commended the regime of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari for removing subsidy on petroleum products.
Sanusi said with the COVID-19 pandemic and its effect on government revenue, Nigerians must realise that the government does not have the wherewithal to continue as “Father Christmas”. The increases in fuel price and electricity tariff sparked outrage of late. The Trade Union Congress and the Nigeria Labour Congress had threatened to commence a nationwide strike last Monday but called it off following a meeting with the government.

I also commend govt for removal of subsidy in way that by next year we will not hear about removal of another subsidy or supreme subsidy, how many years back they said they have done this and now claiming ths same thing, our leader ate not sincere enough..
