Safana made this disclosure while briefing newsmen at the Katsina Liyafa Hotel on Saturday concerning efforts made to reconcile the aggrieved parties.
“You may recall that after the last PDP state congress, some aggrieved members of the party in Katsina State had approached the State High Court to seek redress for being deliberately excluded in the process leading to the election of officers of the party in the State. “Meanwhile, while the appeal was being heard, the dissolved executive committee members and the PDP Agyara faction accepted to start a reconciliation discussion with a view to finding a common ground to resolve the issues in contention and possibly withdraw the court processes and forge ahead as one united PDP family,” Safana recalled.
“The agreement which was accepted by our faction even though it falls seriously short of what the PDP Agyara members would have desired, but which we still decided to accept in our wholehearted seriousness to resolve the issues and move the party forward. To that effect, Mr. Safana claimed that the sudden deliberate act of disregarding the resolution reached to unite the party members and forge a common front by the Majigiri leadership, shows that they are not sincere and cannot be trusted.
According to Safana, that singular action by the current leadership is what has become a clog in the wheel of progress for the party in the state.
