The Supreme Court has reversed its earlier decision which dismissed an appeal filed by Guaranty Trust Bank against a N2.4bn judgment given in favour of Innoson Motors Nigeria Limited by the Court of Appeal in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The judgment was on an application by GTB seeking the re-listing of the appeal on the grounds that it was wrongly dismissed. He added that such circumstances include where there is any reason to do so, such as where any of the parties obtained judgment by fraud, default or deceit; where such a decision is a nullity or where it is obvious that the court was misled into giving a decision.
“It will be unjust to visit the sin of the court’s Registry on an innocent, vigilant, proactive and diligent litigant.

This is crazy !! Supreme Court is supposed to be the highest court in Nigeria , error is supposed to be far from it dealings. Something is not right , shame on you guys .
I am highly amused what Nigeria is turning. Anybody following the case of Innocent Chukwuma and GTB would know that judgement in favour of chukwuma is absolutely counterintuitive. This is a clear case of fraud. Hopefully GTB will do well to publish the whole procedure

It’s high time something is done about this “Registry”. The Errors and oversights are becoming common occurrences.
Another message to those, who will die on the altar of One Nigeria, including Mr Innocent Chukwuma, that your hope for fairness and justice is an illusion. One Nigeria, where election results and S’Court final judgments are reversed to the benefit of a section of the country.

But they refused similar application in Ihedioha v. Uzodinma. Is the registry no longer part of Supreme Court? When did the rule change from “We are not final because we are infallible, but we are infallible only because we are final.” What is Tanko doing to Supreme Court?
Hence the one Justice Abubakar & co summoned courage to rubbish their supreme court desperately & announced GTB as innocent, vigilant, proactive & diligent litigants, it's very obviously clear how the case will end. They dictated supreme court error after 3 years. Corrupt lots.
Thought they said their judgements are irreversible,a country of double standard at all times.
The same Supreme Court that denied EmekaIhedioha clear judgment twice, first against Rochas using the same error from registry. I thought they can't reverse. They better go back to umeadi's appeal of interpretation and reverse themselves before the next election if not...
Hope there will be consequences for the registry personnel that misled the Supreme Court
U finally found a way to shortchange Innocent Chukwuma - Innoson Motors, to favour GTBank. Nigeria is not for u, Dear Igbos. Ur bløød and sweat fuel the country. The häte and injustice against u is intentional and systemic. Once it's against u, it usually passes the SC. Shame!
