Russia’s President Vladimir Putin will today announce the formal annexation of four partially occupied territories of Ukraine in a signing ceremony.
The annexed territories make up about 15 per cent of Ukraine territory. Russia claimed residents of these areas voted overwhelmingly to join Moscow in aThe referendum creates a legal pretext for Russia to annex parts of Ukraine after seven months of war. UN Chief Antonio Gutterres speaking on the annexation said any decision to proceed with the annexation of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine would have no legal value and deserves to be condemned.
