The Chairman of the Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, Dr Chidi Lloyd, has lamented that criminals have converted a government owned hospital’s dump site to store illegally refined petroleum products.
The General Hospital in Elele-Alimini, which has been abandoned by successive administrations in the state, is now being used by kidnappers and oil thieves. The Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Bright Elendu, said in a statement on Thursday that a task force led by the chairman also arrested two suspects.
“The council chairman also effected the arrest of some perpetrators of illegal oil bunkering intercepted in the course of the operation.
