“We as the giant of Africa will be able to produce boats and ships for the babies of other West African countries.”

Mr Yusuf Gadgi, the Chairman of the House of Representatives’ Committee on Navy, on Wednesday challenged the Nigeria Navy to start building its own warships.

“During the course of our visit, we noticed that the Nigeria Navy acquired some boats from South Africa. If South Africa can produce boats, we have our own naval dockyard to do so. “We have a competent navy that will be able to look at the kind of ships that they want and look at the type of vessels they want.“Not other agencies buying vessels and ships that cannot even stand the test of time, ” he said.

“We know that after going to the central and eastern commands, including the units that operate in all those areas, the largest stakeholders’ meeting will still hold in Abuja.

Is this “challenge”worthy of a reply? Have these shameless rogues, sorry, “reps” no sense of shame? This is simply another disingenuous scheme to engage in new series of synchronous plunder of the treasury! They’ve run out of ideas. Giant of Africa? Lilliput of Africa, more like!

You ppl will always make person lafu. Country wey dey produce hundreds if not thousands of Mechanical Eng.'s and can't produce its own car is talking about building ship... Abi na canoe with Gun una dey call war ship? Fix electricity first even if na 10hrs/day. Una go see magic.

Nice. It's gonna need time and loads shit of money

What have we gained in the light and rice that we EXPORT into these African Countries

Good challenge. But will they support and encourage them? I am doubtful seeing how they've squandered the opportunity to patronise made in Nigeria cars from say, innosonvehicles
