The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has told newly sworn in chairmen of the 23 local government areas of the state not to approach any financial bank to borrow money without first clearing with the state government.
Wike, in a statement issued by his media aide, Kelvin Ebiri, said the caution became necessary in order to stem the unguarded desire of some council chairmen to access money without any developmental plan.
You know our DPOs are always asking for some quid for every quo, and you the governor won't let LG have all their money. Simple, you call all the DPOs to meeting and talk on behalf of LG chairmen. Problem solved.
