President Muhammadu Buhari has again declined assent to two more bills transmitted to him from the National Assembly, bringing the number of rejected bills to 41 since June 9, 2015. ICYMI Nigeria Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has again declined assent to two more bills transmitted to him from the National Assembly, bringing the number of rejected bills to 41 since June 9, 2015.

Giving reasons for declining assent, President Buhari said section 14, section 30 of the Nigeria Tourism Development Authority bill contradicts section 4 and paragraph 60 of the second schedule of the 1999 Constitution . It also fixed flat fee by the authority and a one per cent corporate tourism development levy to be charged on revenues of banks’, telecommunications firms and other corporate entities.

I will still not sign it haven read the contradictions

Out of the 41 rejected Bills by PMB, how many has the Legislature override his ascent? If they are sure and convinced of the rightfulness of such Bills? Bills they pass, & no Nigerian knows how his/her lawmaker voted, in passing them?

Sentiment aside let us reason the reasons too.... These people would increase their own comfort at the expense of the masses but levy other peoples comfort.

Reasons for rejection are quite good: Overlapping functionality (with regards to NIWA), and cause of additional burden (with regards to Tourism).

Which and which Bills

They claim change as party slogan but the man don't want to leave some powers/duties to other organs, him and his few advisers are more knowledgeable than the whole national assembly.

Lazy old crow

What does he know

U cares

What the bills about?

After they would say it’s the senate that doesn’t want the executive to function instead they are rejecting bills here n der

What a record!

Lets humbly wait and see if he will sign any of these bills after bukolasaraki

ICYMI Nigeria Na lie! Lies from the pit of hell This is one of the reasons I'm not a big fan of GEJ even though PMB was like jumping into the fire. He promised this and only paid lipservice. if he was serious he could have ringfenced funding for 2nd Niger bridge like he did for Abuja airport and other projects.
