Reduce checkpoints on federal highways – Senate tells IGP

The resolutions were reached following the consideration of a motion by Sen. Chukwuka Utazi during plenary, on Thursday.

Utazi’s motion, coming under order 42 and 52 of the Senate Standing Rules, was entitled “National Security versus Disproportionate Road Checkpoints on Federal highways in the country”. According to him, acts of criminalities had put pressure on the country’s national security architecture, necessitating and compelling security agencies to confront security breaches headlong.

simply a sign of a zoo country. No developed country can accommodate this nonsense called checkpoints. They're toll gates

Those checkpoint are poor man security. Because u are covered with ur own armed men, what about the poor man on the street, traders, transport vehicle?

The numerous checkpoints exist because of high level of insecurity within that axis. Robbery, kidnappings...
