Safety Shooters and Adorable Angels will start the defence of the titles they won last year when the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League begins today at the Indoor Sports Hall, Package B of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

Safety Shooters will take on Plateau Vipers in the opening game, while Lagos Seasiders will clash with D: Defenders, just as Confluence Stars will tackle former champions, Kano Pillars in the men’s category. In the women category, defending champions, Adorable Angels, will take on Seasider Babes, Safety Babes will fight it out with Kada Queens, while also newly promoted Bayelsa Queens will try their strength against Imo Grasshoppers.

Handball Federation of Nigeria President, Mr. Samuel Ocheho, said the aim of the league is to ensure that young players are unearthed and also given the platform to maximise their potential.
