The Organised Private Sector Union Forum of Nigeria Labour Congress in Rivers State has threatened to sanction any private worker who snubs Monday’s labour planned strike action to protest against fuel, electricity tariff and price hike.Speaking on Saturday, the Chairman, Organised Private Sector Union Forum, Temple Morford, said the policies of the Federal Government were putting undue hardship on the workers of Nigeria, hence must be rejected.

“The filling stations, transportation workers and all others should shut down under the private sector unions because Nigerians are being victimised and we cannot continue to be in our own country and be suffering while people from other countries that we give electricity supply enjoy 24 hours supply.”

He added that it was saddening to know that foreign countries Nigeria supply electricity for huge fees were enjoying 24 hours of electricity supply while Nigeria was still in darkness.

I don't think Labour should be the arrow head of this protest and the protest should have been immediately the hike in price was announced and spontaneously across the country. The current NLC is APC arm. Can Labour sustain a week protest, l doubt .

Who will pay the private sector getting ready to the strike. Who remembered the private workers during the lockdown till date. Oga make una carry una cross alone after all nah una dey enjoy the minimum wage.

It is hoped Wabba will not render NLC worthless with this political strike, as it's not justified if it's about subsidy removal because painful as it is, it is deserving for Nigeria's development except we want to continue to dwell in self deceit.

Private Sector workers who refuse to go on Strike will NOT be given Envelopes. Correct d Headline abeg ...!!!! 😒😒😒😒😒😒

Private sector workers who shun strike will be sanctioned -NLC

Sanctioned? As if na una dey pay their salary

Nigerians are hypocrites. Many of them will refuse to participate. The civil servant will always want to go to the office for the fear of missing the crumbs they pick from the office. We complain and murmur like the Israelites in Egypt but still prefer to remain in Egypt.

Me on that day

Punch is good at making loud any anti-government news.

Why is NLC involving private sector? If only you know what workers in the private sector are going through. NLC and the likes should incorporate the welfare and salary scale of private sector workers in their main stream. They have no job security, I why are you calling on them?

Where were they when hunger wan finish us during lockdown. Nonsense.

Good

Don't just talk, make sure you people strike tomorrow.

Mss_XerrahAhmad you have been vindicated.

This strike must hold oooo,I sha no like mondays,

Under this APC government NLC will not be able to hold protest all are jokers

femibimbo Una don finally dey wake up 😂😂

NLC is just playing to the gallery. Same guys who prioritie Rivers workers issues to these increase suddenly wake up to gear up for strike. After one day, they will call it off. It’s just ego and won’t achieve anything significant

ASUU on Strike, NLC about going on strike and Nigeria’s Independence celebration few days from now. 🤦‍♂️

Don’t allow your action to be hijacked by hoodlums, please watch out!

I am going to work tomorrow. Let me see NLC come to stop me. Where were they when we almost died of hunger during the lockdown? Pls don't insult us or tempt us to bring the madness in us

ayemojubar 💃💃💃

I blame buhari

We will join the suffer reach everybody

In develop countries strike actions na serious matter because that’s the only way the masses can air there grievances So me I support NLC enough is enough.

Do you know how many people lost their job during covid 19 lockdown, did NLC get them another job please people should use their brain. If anything happens is you and your family will bear the consequences.

Strike over what exactly? Channel the strike to a better idea - All political office holders should be paid minimum wage( no hidden allowance/constituency allowance or pension ).. No political office holder should send their wards to private sch or oversea.. Electronic voting

Which kind on penalty exactly? Cos last time i checked, workers in the private sector do not benefit anything either from the government, the Labour union or the organization they work for.

Are the NLC all PDP members?

I wish my organisation can see this. I need time off to rest abeg

I am not understanding this message. Monday (today). Is this stale news or what. Because today is Sunday. Please clarify.

I am only here for the violence nothing else

Penalty ko, free-kick ni

Strike over what? Subsidy removal is the best thing to happen to this country after independent. Jobs will be brought back to our country. Don't you know some people are refining the subsidized fuel outside Nigeria. Think about it Nigeria

We all asked for the strike and we should all be a part of the strike action. Enough is Enough... We much break Nigeria free from the strong hold of every oppressor. Please NLC is there still a peaceful solidarity movement on Oct. 1st?

Please leave private workers alone, they have suffered enough during the lockdown without any pay. Go ahead with your strike, no one is stopping you.

Nice one Labour

Forget d present leadership of NLC as I understand that they're co-collaborators working hand in glove with APC government so nobody should take them serious.

That means i might not be going to the office tomorrow 😳

They are crazy!! Are they the ones paying my salary?

What hold do you have on private sector?

That's the way to go labour

Yes tell themoooo
