Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, on Saturday equalled Germany legend Miroslav Klose’s goal record after scoring the first goal in his country’s Euro 2020 tie against Germany.
Ronaldo’s goal against Germany was his 19th at the two major international tournaments [World Cups and European Championships]. Portugal had survived an early scare against Germany, with Robin Gosens seeing his goal ruled out as Serge Gnabry had strayed marginally offside. Ronaldo wasted no time in making Germany rue that misfortune as he raced away in the 15th minute of the encounter to put the finishing touch to an impressive counter.
