Some police officers have staged a protest over the alleged demolition of their residents in Miniokoro Police Barracks, Obio/Akpor Local Government

One of the protesters who didn’t want his name in print said the officers were not duly notified before the demolition.

“It came to us as a shock. We were in our houses this morning when we saw bulldozer bringing our houses down. “We were not informed before the action. It will affect our job. Our families are displaced already. We are calling on the management and the Inspector of Police to help us save the situation,” he was quoted by Vanguard.

The protesters were advised by the Paramount Ruler of Rumuobiakani community which hosts the barracks, Eze Temple Ejeku, to exercise calm and allow the directive of the Inspector General of Police to go on. Spokesman of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident which she said was based on the decision of the Police management team.

Police too are allowed to protest? But who will gun or pour them tear gas? Soldiers I think!

If police protests, send higher military forces to douse the atmosphere mbok
